Portable Plant

Inc.
 Our
onsite portable plant operation began with the
Wal-Mart Distribution Center near Charlottesville,
Virginia, in 2002. From there we completed a
similar project for Wal-Mart near Dover, Delaware,
in 2003. In 2004, we furnished the onsite
concrete for the Sterilite Distribution Center, in
Clinton, South Carolina. The yardage for those
three projects totaled over 150,000 cubic yards.
The most recent job
with the portable plant was with the APM Marine
Terminal in Portsmouth, VA, which was completed in
2007. Our portable batch team is headed by
Mark Kinsey (Area Manager) and Clyde Hall (Plant
Manager), with Frank "Ace" Fedock and Wayne Piland
in charge of plant mobilization and assembly.
Charles Harrell and Tommy Charles work behind the
scenes by securing bids, furnishing mix designs,
acquiring permits, and providing logistical
information to aid in procuring onsite projects.
Our portable plant is
capable of producing 150 cubic yards of concrete an
hour, and, by using our own mixer trucks, we can
provide the appropriate number of trucks to make
sure pour schedules go smoothly. Local
truckers are used to transport raw materials when possible, but we also have
our own fleet of haul trucks and tankers to make
sure products are on the site when needed.
